In Kinglake talking about her recovery after the 2004 Tsunami
This is an open invitation for everyone women, men, teenagers and children to come along and hear about one person's recovery after being apart of a very tragic and public natural disaster.
Trisha Broadbridge (now Silvers) survived the Tsunami that devastated Phi Phi Island in Phuket on Boxing Day 2004. Trisha has gone on to continue life after suffering her own injuries and the death of her husband Troy who died on their honeymoon.
"The nightmares still come but Trisha wants to be known for the positives in her life". Her book "Beyond the Wave" details her story and her recovery and now you have the chance to hear it first hand.
Trisha works at the Reach Foundation which was set up to help teenagers and most know its association with Melbourne Footballer Jim Stynes.
The Reach Foundation (Reach) is a Victorian based non-profit organisation co-founded by Jim Stynes and Paul Currie in 1994.
To encourage essential self-belief and confidence in young people, Reach runs workshops, weekends away and large-scale events for over 40,000 teenagers every year. Every young person should have the support and self-belief to fulfil their potential and dare to dream.
